A Little Bit Of Sad News

I had a blog I was prepared to write today, but honestly, I am a little sad. I learned of the passing of someone I spent time with in my early adult years. I met him when I went to Aden Bowman Collegiate.

I honestly will never forget the first time I saw him. He was wearing a baggy black t-shirt and baggy pants. He came up behind my friend and said something so hilariously snarky. He captivated the attention of everyone within earshot and then went on his way to class. "Who even was that?" I asked my friend. Turns out, it was her relative.

When Facebook became a thing, we all added everyone we knew, and I had him on there forever. In 2013, we hung out, spent New Year's together; He even visited me at work off and on and brought me coffee. Sometimes we would Skype and watch movies together. As time went on, we drifted, but he is not the type of person you soon forget.

He was always good with everyone. He was very forgiving and funny. I still thought about him from time to time over the years and checked his Facebook to see how he was doing. The other week, I even re-shared a story with my best friend about him.

I have a heavy heart for his cousins, whom I still sometimes chum with on the internet, but I know that if this bothers me as much as it does, the people he was close to must be absolutely aching.

If we think we have a lot of time to do things and figure things out, we are wrong. If there is something you are putting off, don't. If there is something you wish you could do, find a way to do it. Life is so precious and so short.

Until we meet again, Jason. I hope somehow you and my brother hang out up there!
